Sungrow, Huawei Lead PVBL’s 2025 Global Top 20 Solar Inverter Rankings
Jun 14, 2025
At the 10th Century Photovoltaic Conference in Shanghai on June 10, the Photovoltaic Brand Lab (PVBL) unveiled its 2025 Global Top 100 Solar Brands and Global Solar Brand Influence Report, showcasing the top 20 solar inverter manufacturers. Despite a challenging year for the overall photovoltaic manufacturing industry, the inverter sector emerged as the most resilient performer, with Sungrow and Huawei maintaining their dominance.
Sungrow posted impressive revenue of ¥77.86 billion and a net profit of ¥11.04 billion in 2024, registering annual growth of 7.76% and 16.92%, respectively. Huawei's inverter division also performed strongly. Other leading names in the top 20 include TBEA, Senergy, Deye, Ginlong (Solis), and SOFAR, the latter having gone public in April amid a global IPO slowdown in clean energy.
PVBL noted a dip in residential energy storage demand in Europe, which triggered a shake-up in rankings. The report pointed out growing disparities in company strategies and R&D investments, signaling greater performance divergence in the years ahead.
Nonetheless, the long-term outlook remains optimistic. With solar installations increasing worldwide and overseas markets expanding, inverter manufacturers are poised for steady growth. Improved cost control, efficiency, and technological innovation continue to fortify the segment’s resilience.
The PVBL rankings are based on a comprehensive system involving financials, innovation, impact, and sustainability. The methodology aligns with Chinese national standards (GB/T 31041-2014, 31042-2014, and 31043-2014) and includes both quantitative data from public reports and qualitative indicators like brand influence and social responsibility.
Established in 2012, the PVBL annual ranking has become a globally recognized benchmark of brand strength and industry direction in solar energy.
