Sunkind Energy, ConfirmWare Partner to Set Up 4 GW Solar Module and Cell Units

Sunkind Energy has signed an MoU with ConfirmWare PV Manufacturing Solutions to establish 4 GW of solar module and cell manufacturing capacity across Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. The collaboration involves setting up a 2.5 GW integrated module and cell facility in Madhya Pradesh and a 1.5 GW module-only unit in Rajasthan. Both units will produce 610?W TOPCon modules using M10 monocrystalline silicon cells. Production in Rajasthan is expected to begin by November 2025, while the Madhya Pradesh unit will commence module production by end-2026 and cell production by mid-2027.

ConfirmWare will supply advanced automation and stringer technology, supporting Sunkind’s roadmap. With a portfolio of over 150 MW in delivered solar EPC projects, Sunkind is also expanding into energy storage, EV infrastructure, and tracker-based mounting systems.

This development aligns with India’s rapidly growing solar manufacturing sector, which saw an addition of 25.3 GW of module and 11.6 GW of cell capacity in 2024, according to Mercom’s latest report. The growth was driven by a strong project pipeline and the reimposition of the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) order in April 2024, aiming to boost domestic manufacturing.
