Sunora Solar Wins 125 MW Solar Panel Project in Saurashtra Under DREPP Scheme

Aug 14, 2025

Sunora Solar has secured a 125 MW solar panel project in the Saurashtra region of Gujarat under the Distributed Renewable Energy Pilot Program (DREPP), marking a significant step in advancing India’s renewable energy mission. Valued at Rs170 crore, the project is designed to expand access to clean and affordable energy, while boosting local economic development.

The scope of work includes site analysis, panel mounting, installation of electricity storage systems, setup of distribution units, and ongoing maintenance. This comprehensive approach ensures both efficient power generation and reliable delivery to end users. The project is also expected to create substantial employment opportunities for local communities, thereby improving livelihoods in the region.

Sunora Solar’s initiative directly supports India’s national target of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030. By leveraging the DREPP framework, which focuses on decentralised renewable solutions, the company aims to enhance energy access in rural and semi-urban areas, reducing reliance on conventional fossil fuels.

The Saurashtra project stands out for its integration of energy storage systems, enabling better grid stability and supply consistency. It also reinforces Sunora Solar’s mission to make renewable energy more affordable, accessible, and sustainable across the country.

With the implementation of this project, Sunora Solar is positioning itself as a key player in India’s distributed solar segment, contributing to both climate goals and economic development. The initiative is expected to serve as a model for future large-scale solar projects under the DREPP scheme, demonstrating how clean energy deployment can align with local community benefits.
