Suzlon Secures 838 MW Wind Turbine Order from Tata Power Renewable Energy
Oct 07, 2025
Suzlon Energy has received a major 838 MW wind turbine order from Tata Power Renewable Energy under its firm and dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE) program. This marks Suzlon’s second-largest order after the 1,544 MW deal with NTPC Green Energy. The project involves supplying 266 units of Suzlon’s advanced S144 wind turbines, each with a capacity of 3.15 MW. These turbines will be installed across Karnataka (302 MW), Maharashtra (271 MW), and Tamil Nadu (265 MW).
The project forms part of FDRE bids awarded to SJVN and NTPC, which aim to develop hybrid renewable systems integrating wind, solar, and energy storage technologies to deliver reliable, round-the-clock clean power. Suzlon highlighted that the S144 turbine platform is designed for higher efficiency and optimized performance across varied wind conditions.
Financially, Suzlon reported a Rs3.24 billion (~$37 million) net profit in Q1 FY26, up 7.3% year-over-year. The company has also been actively expanding its project portfolio — securing a 170.1 MW order from AMPIN Energy Transition in June and winning a 100 MW tender with Integrum Energy and Bharat Petroleum in May. Tata Power Renewable Energy, meanwhile, continues to strengthen its 3.9 GW wind portfolio with additional hybrid projects.
