TALON PV to Build 4 GW TOPCon Solar Cell Factory in U.S. with Fraunhofer ISE Support

TALON PV, a U.S.-based solar cell maker, is setting up a 4 GW high-efficiency TOPCon cell manufacturing facility slated to start production by end-2026. To accelerate development, the company is working with Fraunhofer ISE in Germany, which has established a pilot production line mirroring TALON’s planned factory.

The pilot line will support process optimization, workforce training, and technology selection ahead of the U.S. facility’s commissioning. TALON is also exploring perovskite-silicon tandem cells as part of its next-generation roadmap. The company was among those pushing for trade investigations into solar imports from India and Southeast Asia, aligning with recent U.S. anti-dumping actions on cells and modules from Cambodia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam.
