Teerth Gopicon to Invest Rs1,500 Crore in Solar Manufacturing Facility in Madhya Pradesh
Feb 28, 2025
Indore-based Teerth Gopicon Limited is making a major entry into solar manufacturing by setting up a 3 GW TOPCon solar module and a 3 GW solar cell manufacturing facility in Madhya Pradesh. The company has signed an MoU with the Government of Madhya Pradesh at the Global Investor Summit 2025, committing an investment of Rs1,500 crore for the project.
This initiative aligns with India's goal of strengthening its domestic solar manufacturing capabilities under the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme and reducing dependence on imports. The facility will focus on TOPCon (Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact) technology, an advanced solar cell technology that enhances efficiency and performance compared to traditional PERC modules.
Madhya Pradesh is emerging as a key renewable energy manufacturing hub, offering incentives, land availability, and infrastructure support. The state is already home to Asia’s largest solar project and continues to attract investments in utility-scale solar, wind, and hybrid energy projects.
This development marks a significant step for India’s solar manufacturing sector, reinforcing Madhya Pradesh’s position as a renewable energy powerhouse.
