Telangana Floats Tender for 80.69?MW Rooftop Solar in 80 Villages Under PM Surya Ghar Yojana
Jul 11, 2025
The Telangana State Renewable Energy Development Corporation Ltd. (TGREDCO) has issued a major tender for the design, supply, installation, and commissioning of 80.69?MW of rooftop solar systems across 80 villages under its Model Solar Village Programme. The project, aligned with the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, will install 2?kW rooftop solar PV systems on 40,349 rural households, with an estimated contract value of Rs50 crore.
The systems must use DCR-compliant Mono PERC modules, with bidders also responsible for five years of comprehensive operations and maintenance. The tender is divided into four regional clusters—Bonakal, Kodangal, TGNPDCL, and TGSPDCL—requiring separate technical and financial bids. Bid submissions are due by July 24, 2025, with technical bids opening on July 29.
Bidders must meet specific cluster-wise eligibility criteria, show experience in similar installations, and provide a bid security of Rs3 crore along with a non-refundable process fee of Rs1.18 lakh. Evaluation will be based on item-wise competitive pricing.
The initiative aims to strengthen rural electrification, promote decentralised solar energy, generate local employment, and support domestic solar manufacturing—accelerating Telangana’s clean energy transition in underserved regions.
