Jun 21, 2025

The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) welcomed Mr Ashish Khanna, the newly appointed Director General of the International Solar Alliance (ISA), at its Delhi office on June 20, 2025. Mr Khanna assumed the ISA leadership in March 2025, heading the international body co-founded by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and former French President Francois Hollande during COP21 in Paris.

Dr Vibha Dhawan, Director General of TERI, hosted the meeting and highlighted TERI’s extensive expertise and impactful project implementation in the renewable energy space. The session aimed to explore avenues for deeper collaboration between TERI and ISA in accelerating global solar adoption, particularly in developing countries.

The meeting was attended by senior TERI experts including Mr Girish Sethi, Dr Banwari Lal, Mr P K Bhattacharya, Ms Shailly Kedia, Mr Manish Shrivastava, Mr Kiran Kumar Alla, Ms Shiren Pandita, Mr Arup Mullick, Mr Ajeet Kumar Singh, and Mr Piyush Saxena. Representing the ISA Secretariat was Mr Karan Mangotra, Partnerships Specialist.

The discussion underscored mutual interest in fostering innovation, capacity building, and project deployment to drive the global solar transition, in alignment with ISA’s mission to mobilize over $1 trillion in solar investments by 2030.
