The Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL) Invites Bids for 5 MW Solar O&M in Rajasthan; Advances Green Push

May 26, 2025

The Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL) has floated a tender for operations and maintenance (O&M) of its 5 MW solar power plant at Rawra, Rajasthan, for a three-month duration. Bidders must submit proposals by May 30, 2025, with bid opening scheduled for May 31. The contract includes a 12-month defect liability period post-completion. The scope covers scheduled and breakdown maintenance to ensure optimal power generation, including the upkeep of a 15 km, 33 kV transmission line and coordination with the state utility for outage restoration.

Eligible bidders must meet financial criteria: a minimum turnover of Rs527,000 in any of the past three financial years, and prior experience executing similar solar O&M work within the last seven years. Depending on the number of projects handled, the cost thresholds range from Rs264,000 to Rs439,000, with a minimum project size of 500 kW for qualification.

This tender comes as IOCL steps up its clean energy initiatives. The company recently awarded L&T Energy Green Tech a contract to build a 10 KTPA green hydrogen unit at its Panipat Refinery. In parallel, IOCL’s board approved Rs1,086 crore in additional equity infusion into its renewable energy arm, Terra Clean, to support the development of 4.3 GW of green capacity. These moves reflect IOCL’s growing commitment to clean energy diversification across solar and hydrogen segments.
