TPSDI Launches Green Energy Skill Centre in Delhi to Power India’s Clean Energy Workforce
Jul 11, 2025
Tata Power Skill Development Institute (TPSDI) has inaugurated a Green Energy Skill Centre at Rohini, New Delhi, to train youth in renewable energy technologies and strengthen India’s clean energy workforce. The facility, located at Tata Power Delhi Distribution’s Cenpeid campus, was inaugurated by Santosh Kumar Sarangi, Secretary, MNRE, and Dr. Praveer Sinha, CEO & MD, Tata Power.
The centre will offer specialized courses in solar PV system installation and O&M, energy storage, pumped hydro, and electrical safety. The training aligns with MNRE’s skill development priorities, including the PM Surya Ghar Yojana, and incorporates NCVET-approved modules under NSQF standards. TPSDI, a dual awarding body under NCVET, supports national skilling priorities through hands-on and blended learning using simulators, industrial models, and virtual platforms.
So far, TPSDI has trained over 3.43 lakh individuals across India, including 50,000 from affirmative action groups and 18,000 women. With this launch, TPSDI now operates 12 training hubs and 5 spokes across India, with plans for eight more centres this year. TPSDI also runs international training programs and is affiliated with PSSC and SCGJ. This Rohini Centre furthers Tata Power’s commitment to skill-building and India’s green energy transition.
