UAE and Philippines Ink Agreement for 1 GW Renewable Energy Projects

The UAE's Masdar has partnered with the Philippines to develop 1 GW of solar, wind, and battery energy storage systems (BESS) by 2030. This initiative supports the Philippines’ goal of 35% renewable energy by 2030 and 50% by 2040.

Agreements were signed between Masdar and the Philippines’ Department of Energy, strengthening UAE-Philippines ties and advancing the Energy Transition Program. Masdar plans to leverage its expertise to boost renewable energy, create jobs, and enhance energy security, aligning with its broader goal of achieving 100 GW renewable energy capacity globally by 2030.
