UGVCL Expands Solar Capacity with 1.5 MW Plant under PM-KUSUM Scheme

Apr 14, 2025

Uttar Gujarat Vij Company Ltd (UGVCL) has successfully commissioned a new 1.5 MW solar plant at the 66KV Harsol Substation under the PM-KUSUM Component-C Feeder Level Solarization Scheme, marking another milestone in its solar energy journey. This addition strengthens the company’s commitment to providing reliable daytime electricity and supporting India’s clean energy transition.

With this new installation, UGVCL has now commissioned a total of 36 solar plants, bringing its cumulative solar capacity to 97.026 MW. The PM-KUSUM scheme, which aims to solarize agricultural feeders, plays a pivotal role in enhancing grid stability while promoting sustainable energy sources. By focusing on solarization of feeder-level infrastructure, UGVCL is contributing to the government’s larger objective of boosting renewable energy capacity in the country.
