UPNEDA Invites Bids for 110 MW Solar Projects in Kanpur Solar Parks

Apr 29, 2025

The Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) has floated a tender for setting up 110 MW of grid-connected solar power projects across Kanpur Dehat and Kanpur Nagar solar parks. The project includes 75 MW in Kanpur Dehat and 35 MW in Kanpur Nagar. Bidders must submit their proposals by May 27, 2025, with bid openings scheduled for May 28.

The projects will be developed under the build-own-operate-maintain (BOOM) model, with successful bidders required to sign a 25-year power purchase agreement with Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation. The scope includes infrastructure development such as street lighting, drainage, and weather monitoring stations, in addition to the core solar power installations.

Developers must ensure a minimum capacity utilization factor (CUF) of 17% and use only technologies that are commercially established to mitigate project delays. Solar modules must be sourced from manufacturers listed in the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM). Interconnection at the grid station and a dedicated transmission line are mandatory for each project.

The financial eligibility criteria require bidders to have a net worth of at least Rs8 lakh per MW. The project must be commissioned within 24 months.
