Vardhan CBG has signed a tripartite agreement with GAIL (India) Ltd. and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (BPCL) for the supply of 6 tonnes per day (tpd) of compressed biogas (CBG) at the Kumarbagh Industrial Area in West Champaran, Bihar. This initiative marks a significant step in utilizing bio-waste for sustainable energy generation, aligning with India’s broader push for green fuels.

The agreement enables Vardhan CBG to leverage GAIL’s robust pipeline infrastructure for the efficient transport and distribution of CBG, reinforcing GAIL's strategy to diversify its energy portfolio with cleaner alternatives. BPCL's participation adds downstream strength, integrating the biogas into its fuel distribution network and improving accessibility for consumers.

Amit Kumar, Director of Vardhan CBG, highlighted the strategic value of this collaboration, stating it exemplifies a joint commitment to environmental sustainability and rural economic development. The project is expected to serve as a national model for similar ventures that integrate alternative fuels into mainstream energy consumption.

This partnership not only advances India’s bio-energy goals under the Sustainable Alternative Towards Affordable Transportation (SATAT) initiative but also supports circular economy principles by transforming organic waste into clean energy, while boosting local employment and rural infrastructure development.
