Vedanta Power Seeks Global Partners for 15,000 MW Thermal Power Projects via EOI

May 06, 2025

Vedanta Power, one of India’s largest private energy producers, issued a global Expression of Interest (EOI) to identify strategic partners for developing 15,000 MW of thermal power capacity. The call targets brownfield projects at existing Vedanta sites across India and is part of the company’s move to secure long-term, large-scale thermal power capabilities.

According to the EOI, Vedanta is seeking partners for the manufacturing and supply of state-of-the-art thermal power plants, including the latest sizes and technologies. Vedanta will handle all local logistics and regulatory responsibilities, including land acquisition, permits, utilities, and infrastructure within battery limits, thereby offering a streamlined process for selected collaborators.

This move comes amid rising industrial power demands and reflects Vedanta’s ongoing commitment to energy security and infrastructure expansion. It also aligns with the broader market trend of leveraging brownfield development to accelerate deployment and efficiency in India’s evolving power sector.

Vedanta’s initiative signals significant partnership and investment opportunities for global players in the thermal energy domain.
