VFlowTech Raises Rs17.10 Cr to Expand Vanadium Redox Flow Battery Manufacturing in India
May 15, 2025
Singapore-based VFlowTech has secured Rs17.10 crore in fresh funding to scale up its operations in India, including expanding its 100 MWh battery manufacturing facility into a gigafactory. The funding round was led by Granite Asia, with participation from multiple venture and strategic investors. VFlowTech specializes in Vanadium Redox Flow Battery (VRFB) systems, a long-duration energy storage solution with over 25 years of lifespan, superior safety, and deep discharge capabilities compared to lithium-ion batteries.
This expansion is critical as India strives to reach its ambitious target of 500 GW of non-fossil fuel energy capacity by 2030. VFlowTech aims to deploy up to 1 GWh of VRFB systems in the coming years, targeting renewable developers and industrial clients. The company is also investing in building a local vanadium supply chain and innovating electrolyte production to improve cost efficiencies.
Beyond hardware, VFlowTech offers an AI-powered energy management platform to optimize renewable assets and support grid services, including energy trading. The firm’s leadership highlights India as a pivotal market in the clean energy transition, with long-duration storage playing a vital role in ensuring grid stability and reliable renewable power availability around the clock.
