Waaree Energies Expands U.S. Solar Manufacturing to 3.2 GW

Apr 16, 2025

Waaree Energies has announced a major expansion of its solar module manufacturing operations in the United States, adding 1.6 GW of new capacity at its Brookshire, Texas facility. This move doubles the company's U.S. manufacturing capacity to 3.2 GW, reinforcing its long-term commitment to the American solar market.

The expansion is part of Waaree’s broader strategic initiative to derisk global operations, localize manufacturing, and meet growing global demand for transparent and dependable solar supply chains. The company emphasized that this development isn’t just a capacity boost—it reflects Waaree’s view of the U.S. as a key industrial growth engine in the renewable energy space.

Waaree’s U.S. operations are already structured to be independently profitable, but the company acknowledges that programs like the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) will significantly enhance returns. The move is also aligned with efforts to build a domestic solar supply chain in the U.S., ensuring resilience and long-term customer value.

Waaree's strategic expansion comes amid strong financial performance, with Q3 FY2024-25 net profit surging 260% YoY to Rs507 crore, driven by the global growth of solar markets and declining solar and battery costs.

Earlier this year, the company acquired Enel Green Power India for Rs792 crore, adding a 640 MWac (760 MWdc) portfolio of operational and pipeline solar and wind assets—further signaling Waaree's aggressive push into both domestic and international renewable markets.
