WABAG Wins Rs46.5 Crore Water Management Contract for RenewSys’ 2 GW Solar Cell Plant

VA TECH WABAG has secured a ?46.5 crore order from RenewSys India to deliver complete water management solutions for the company’s upcoming 2 GW solar cell manufacturing facility in Hyderabad, Telangana.
The contract covers the design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, installation, and commissioning of an Ultrapure Water (UPW) system, Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP), and a Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) system. The project is expected to be completed within 11 months.
Highlighting the significance of this deal, V. Sivakumar, General Manager – Sales and Marketing, India Cluster, VA TECH WABAG, said the order represents WABAG’s entry into providing end-to-end water management solutions for solar cell plants, a sector with strong future growth potential.
“This project aligns with our strategy to expand into high-growth industrial applications such as solar, green hydrogen, and semiconductors. Our technological expertise, proven track record, and competitive life-cycle cost made us the preferred choice,” Sivakumar noted.
The order strengthens WABAG’s presence in the solar manufacturing sector, showcasing its capabilities across UPW, ETP, and ZLD technologies. The company expects this foothold to open up further opportunities in renewable energy and advanced industrial applications.
