WBGEDCL Floats Tender for 1.5 MW Rooftop Solar Project at Kalyani Layer Farm

The West Bengal Green Energy Development Corporation (WBGEDCL) has invited bids for a 1.5 MW grid-connected rooftop solar project at Kalyani Layer Farm, Nadia district. The project, estimated at Rs93.8 million, includes design, supply, commissioning, and five years of O&M.

Bids must be submitted by September 19, 2025, and will be opened on September 22. Bidders must provide an EMD of Rs1.87 million and a document fee of Rs10,000 plus GST. The successful bidder must furnish a performance bank guarantee of 10% of the award value, with an additional 10% if the bid is ?80% of the estimated cost.

Eligibility requires experience with at least one 500 kW solar project for a government/PSU in the past five years, along with financial strength—turnover and working capital of at least 30% of project cost. The project must be completed within 120 days, with penalties of 0.5% per week for delays, capped at 5%.

This follows a recent 10 MW rooftop solar RfP issued by the West Bengal Renewable Energy Development Agency (WBREDA) across multiple districts.
