WBPDCL Invites Bids for O&M of 2.6 MW Rooftop Solar Project at Bakreshwar Thermal Power Station

Oct 07, 2025

The West Bengal Power Development Corporation Limited (WBPDCL) has announced a tender for the operation and maintenance (O&M) of a 2.6 MW rooftop solar project located at the Bakreshwar Thermal Power Station in Birbhum, West Bengal. The last date for bid submission is October 11, 2025, with bids scheduled to open on October 13, 2025.

The project, valued at Rs3.6 million, covers 16 buildings within the plant premises for a two-year O&M period. Bidders must provide an earnest money deposit (EMD) of Rs72,000 and a security deposit equal to 10% of the contract value. The scope includes maintenance of grid-tied inverters, cables, junction boxes, online data loggers, and weekly cleaning of solar modules. Contractors must ensure 100% plant availability, addressing faults within 24 hours, or face penalties — Rs2,000 per missed task and Rs1,000 per day for unresolved issues.

Eligible bidders should have O&M experience of at least 1 MW solar capacity for one year and must meet specific financial criteria, including a minimum annual turnover of Rs540,000 and a positive net worth over the last three fiscal years. Earlier, in June 2025, WBPDCL issued a similar tender for 10 MW ground-mounted solar projects at its Sagardighi Thermal Power Project.
