WorldOne Energies Commissions 1.2 GW TOPCon Solar Module Facility in Nagpur
Apr 05, 2025
WorldOne Energies has launched a 1.2 GW solar module manufacturing facility in Nagpur, Maharashtra, focusing on high-efficiency N-type TOPCon mono and bifacial modules ranging from 525 Wp to 650 Wp. The new line, equipped with 144/156 half-cut cells and achieving 23.26?ficiency, is touted to be 33?ster than standard Indian module production lines. The facility was set up at a cost exceeding Rs200 crore.
WorldOne aims to position itself as a key player in India’s growing solar manufacturing space, with plans to:
- Expand to a 2 GW scalable solar cell facility, later increasing to 5 GW.
- Boost module manufacturing capacity from 1.2 GW to 10 GW.
Besides modules, the company provides energy storage systems, including high-capacity lithium-ion batteries, solar inverters for various applications, and hybrid energy management solutions. Its portfolio also includes O&M services, renewable integration, and green building solutions across government, healthcare, education, industrial, and residential sectors.
This move aligns with India’s broader solar manufacturing ambitions. As of June 2024, India’s total:
- Solar module capacity: Reached 77.2 GW
- Solar cell capacity: Hit 7.6 GW.
India added 11.3 GW of module and 2 GW of cell manufacturing capacity in 1H 2024. Most of the production came from monocrystalline PERC, followed by TOPCon, polycrystalline, and thin-film modules.
With the MNRE expanding the ALMM list by 8,067 MW in March 2025, total approved capacity now stands at 74,235 MW, reflecting the sector's accelerating growth.
