Zensar Technologies Commissions 620 kW Solar Systems at Pune Campus

Sept 08, 2025

Zensar Technologies has completed a 620 kW solar installation at its Pune facilities in partnership with B. U. Bhandari Energy. The project includes a 350 kW rooftop system and a 270 kW solar carport, together generating nearly 900,000 kWh annually, reducing grid dependence by 30%. This clean energy initiative will deliver a three-year return on investment, significantly cutting electricity costs while advancing Zensar’s sustainability goals.

The project faced logistical hurdles due to limited rooftop space and narrow carport structures. To address this, B. U. Bhandari Energy used a pre-assembly approach, fabricating structures off-site and transporting them in smaller batches. Safety was also a priority, with fall-arrest systems, PPE compliance, and safety zones implemented to protect workers in confined areas.

The systems use Rayzon modules and Sungrow inverters, installed on RCC rooftops and custom carports. With these upgrades, Zensar is enhancing its green energy adoption, building on its previous solar initiatives.

As part of the IT sector, where data centers and offices are highly energy-intensive, Zensar’s move underscores a broader industry shift toward renewable energy adoption and sustainability integration. Such projects not only lower operational costs but also align with global climate goals and client expectations.
