Lilypad Boosts EV Adoption with Doorstep Home Demo Programme

Lilypad, an emerging electric vehicle (EV) startup, has launched an innovative Home Demo Service designed to simplify EV ownership and make electric mobility more accessible for Indian consumers. Through this initiative, customers can schedule doorstep test drives and receive a personalized introduction to EVs—eliminating the need to visit a showroom.
Currently, Lilypad sells between 12 and 15 vehicles per month through its online platform and operates a fleet of 50 EVs that collectively cover over 100,000 kilometers each month across the Delhi-NCR region. The company has been witnessing consistent month-on-month growth of 8–10 percent, reflecting India’s rapidly expanding consumer interest in electric mobility.
A company spokesperson said, “At Lilypad, we believe buying an EV isn’t just a purchase—it’s a mindset shift. Our home demo programme brings the EV experience directly to the customer’s doorstep, combining accessibility, trust, and convenience to accelerate India’s transition to electric mobility.”
Powered by WATI’s WhatsApp-based and web booking system, the programme allows customers to easily schedule 30-minute doorstep demos. Each session is led by a Lilypad specialist who provides hands-on guidance, explains safety protocols, and helps customers experience the vehicle’s performance firsthand. So far, the company has conducted over 100 home demos, achieving three times higher conversion rates compared to traditional in-store visits.
As part of its 2026 expansion roadmap, Lilypad aims to strengthen its presence in Delhi-NCR and subsequently expand to Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, focusing on responsible, customer-centric growth that builds trust and awareness around EV adoption in India.
