UTL Solar Joins ALMM List-II for Solar Cells, Total Enlisted Capacity Hits 27,227 MW
Feb 17, 2026
Fujiyama Power Systems (UTL Solar) has been included in the ALMM (Approved List of Models and Manufacturers) List-II for solar PV cells by adding 437 MW of bifacial Mono PERC solar cell capacity. With this addition, the total enlisted capacity under ALMM List-II has reached 27,227 MW, and the number of manufacturers on the list now stands at 11.
Last month, UTL Solar commissioned a 1 GW Mono PERC solar cell manufacturing plant at Dadri, Uttar Pradesh, with an investment of approximately Rs 300 crore.
Since its first publication on July 31, 2025, the ALMM List-II has undergone five revisions. The latest update on February 5, 2026, saw several additions:
- Evervolt Solar Technology India added 1,074 MW of bifacial Mono PERC solar cells from its Andhra Pradesh plant.
- Premier Energies Photovoltaic expanded its bifacial N-Type TOPCon capacity by 1,358 MW, taking its total to 3,282 MW.
- Mundra Solar PV (Adani Solar) increased its bifacial N-Type TOPCon capacity by 405 MW, reaching 2,298 MW.
- FS India Solar Ventures (First Solar) added 221 MW, reaching 3,433 MW.
Earlier updates also saw entries from Waaree Energies, Websol Energy Systems, Tata Power, TP Solar, TPREL, Emmvee Energy, ReNew Photovoltaics, and Jupiter International, contributing significantly to the growth of India’s domestic solar cell manufacturing capacity.
The ALMM List-II for solar cells will be implemented from June 1, 2026, though projects commissioned prior to this date for Net-Metering and Open Access are exempt. Meanwhile, the ALMM List-III for solar wafers is planned for June 1, 2028, requiring at least three operational wafer manufacturers with integrated ingot production and a combined annual capacity of 15 GW.
This development underscores the continued expansion and formalization of India’s solar manufacturing sector, supporting domestic production and energy security goals.
