Maruti Suzuki Launches ‘One India, One EV Charging Platform’ with 13 CPO Partners
Dec 05, 2025
Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. has made a major entry into the electric mobility ecosystem by launching a unified EV charging platform in collaboration with 13 leading Charge Point Operators (CPOs) and aggregators. The initiative aims to streamline EV charging across the country through a fully integrated digital system covering both home and public charging.
As part of this nationwide push, the company has already installed more than 2,000 dedicated EV charging points across its sales and service network in over 1,100 cities. This foundation will be reinforced by partner-operated charging stations, collectively forming one of India’s largest EV charging networks. Maruti Suzuki has set a bold target of enabling over 1 lakh public charging points by 2030, a move expected to boost confidence among prospective EV users.
The collaboration agreements were announced in New Delhi, where Managing Director and CEO Hisashi Takeuchi said the initiative is aimed at delivering a seamless and trustworthy EV ownership experience. He noted that partnerships with multiple CPOs will help Maruti Suzuki support its upcoming EV lineup, aligned with Suzuki’s global vision for electrification.
Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing & Sales, highlighted that the platform ensures convenient access to charging points at intervals of 5–10 kilometres across the top 100 Indian cities. DC fast chargers along highways will support uninterrupted long-distance travel. To reinforce service capabilities, Maruti Suzuki has deployed a 1.5 lakh-strong EV-ready workforce and activated more than 1,500 EV-capable service workshops nationwide.
To showcase the strength of its network, the company kicked off a nationwide ‘e drive’ with four e VITARA vehicles travelling toward Srinagar, Kanyakumari, Dibrugarh, and Bhuj—symbolically covering India’s four corners. The drive aims to demonstrate real-world charging convenience and encourage broader EV adoption.
At the heart of the initiative is the ‘e for me’ mobile app, which unifies home and public charging on a single interface. Users can search for charging stations, initiate and pay for sessions, remotely manage smart home chargers, mirror the interface on the car’s infotainment system, and make payments via UPI or the dedicated Maruti Suzuki Money feature.
Maruti Suzuki also showcased the capabilities of the e VITARA Born EV, which has completed over 1 crore kilometres of testing across extreme conditions—from 60°C desert heat to –30°C icy terrain. Offering a certified range of 543 km for the 61 kWh variant, the model represents a globally competitive EV designed and engineered in India for international markets.
With this move, Maruti Suzuki has firmly positioned itself as a major contender in India’s EV transition—combining nationwide charging infrastructure, digital integration, and product innovation to support the country’s shift toward electric mobility.
