Northern Railway Invites Bids for O&M of 1 MW Solar Installations at Katra Station

Apr 07, 2026

Northern Railway has issued a tender for the comprehensive operation and maintenance (O&M) of 1 MW solar power installations located at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Railway Station and associated infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir.

The tender covers solar systems installed across platform shelters, station premises, and nearby service buildings. The selected bidder will be responsible not only for ongoing maintenance but also for the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of key equipment, including inverters and related components, along with supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) services.

The estimated project cost is Rs1.69 million, and bidders are required to submit an earnest money deposit of Rs33,800. Interested participants must also hold a valid electrical contractor license issued by a central or state government authority.

The deadline for bid submission is April 27, 2026. The contract duration is aligned with a 24-month O&M period, during which all operational, maintenance, and equipment-related responsibilities must be completed.

This initiative reflects Indian Railways’ continued push toward maintaining and optimizing its solar assets, ensuring efficient performance and long-term sustainability of renewable energy systems across its network.
