CEAT Ties Up with CleanMax for 59 MW Wind-Solar Hybrid Power Across Gujarat and Tamil Nadu
Jan 16, 2026
Indian tyre major CEAT has entered into a partnership with CleanMax Enviro Energy Solutions to procure approximately 59 MW of renewable energy from hybrid wind–solar projects under a group captive framework.
The clean power will be supplied to CEAT’s manufacturing units in Halol, Gujarat, and Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu.
The projects are expected to collectively generate around 13.58 crore units of renewable electricity every year, increasing CEAT’s overall clean energy consumption to nearly 60% of its total power requirement.
According to CleanMax, the hybrid configuration leverages the complementary nature of wind and solar generation, resulting in more consistent power output, improved plant load factor (PLF), and enhanced grid stability—a critical requirement for energy-intensive manufacturing facilities.
The annual renewable generation from these projects is estimated to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by nearly 100,000 tonnes, an environmental benefit comparable to planting about 4.5 million trees each year.
Commenting on the collaboration, Kuldeep Jain, Managing Director of CleanMax Enviro Energy Solutions, said the partnership reflects how structured renewable energy collaborations can support large manufacturers in decarbonising operations while accelerating the transition to a sustainable energy ecosystem.
Roopesh R., Senior Vice President – Procurement at CEAT, stated that the long-term agreement strengthens CEAT’s renewable energy footprint across both Gujarat and Tamil Nadu.
He highlighted that sustainability remains a core element of the company’s long-term strategy, supporting responsible growth and future resilience.
He further noted that with CEAT already progressing in areas such as green sourcing, sustainable logistics, biodegradable packaging, and low-emission manufacturing, the adoption of hybrid wind-solar power is a natural extension of its sustainability roadmap.
The initiative is also expected to deliver cost efficiencies while supporting the company’s goal of producing tyres with a lower carbon footprint.
Through this collaboration, CEAT aims to enhance energy security, operational efficiency, and carbon reduction efforts, leveraging CleanMax’s expertise in delivering renewable solutions for the commercial and industrial sector as it advances toward its long-term net-zero ambitions.
