Himachal Pradesh Floats Tender for 9 MW Solar Project with Battery Storage in Solan
Apr 07, 2026
Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (HPPCL) has issued a tender for the development of a 9 MW solar power project integrated with a 3.15 MW/6.3 MWh battery energy storage system. The project will be set up at Dabhota in the Solan district of Himachal Pradesh, aiming to strengthen renewable energy capacity with reliable storage support.
The selected bidder will be responsible for executing the project on a turnkey basis, covering design, engineering, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning. In addition, the contract includes operation and maintenance (O&M) of the facility for a period of 15 years, ensuring long-term performance and reliability.
The scope of work also involves land development, civil and electrical infrastructure, installation, regulatory approvals, and final operational acceptance of the solar-plus-storage system. The integration of battery storage is expected to enhance grid stability and enable efficient energy management.
The deadline for bid submission is May 5, 2026, with bid opening scheduled on the same day. Interested bidders must submit an earnest money deposit of Rs15 million and meet specific financial and technical eligibility requirements.
To qualify, bidders should demonstrate a minimum average annual turnover of Rs290 million over the past three financial years. They must also have access to sufficient financial resources, including liquidity or credit lines, to meet a cash flow requirement of at least Rs150 million.
On the technical front, bidders are required to have prior experience in executing solar projects combined with battery storage systems. This includes completing projects of varying capacities within the last 15 years, along with proven experience in operating and maintaining solar and storage assets.
The tender reflects the growing focus on hybrid renewable energy solutions, combining solar generation with storage to ensure more stable and dispatchable power supply.
