NTPC Green Invites EoI for Power Offtake from 100 MW Solar Project with 200 MWh Storage
Mar 25, 2026
NTPC Green Energy (NGEL) has issued an expression of interest (EoI) on behalf of its joint venture, NTPC UP Green Energy (NUGEL), to source renewable power from an upcoming 100 MW solar project paired with a 50 MW/200 MWh battery energy storage system in Uttar Pradesh.
NUGEL, a collaboration between NGEL and Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam, has been formed to develop nearly 2 GW of solar capacity in the state. The initiative also supports NTPC’s broader ambition of reaching 60 GW of renewable energy capacity by the financial year 2032.
Interested participants must submit their bids by April 23, 2026, with bid opening scheduled for April 24, 2026. Eligible bidders include industries, commercial entities, distribution companies within Uttar Pradesh, institutional consumers, and power aggregators with a minimum demand of 5 MW. Smaller entities may also participate by combining their requirements to meet the minimum threshold.
Selected bidders will have the flexibility to utilize solar power during daylight hours while leveraging stored energy during peak demand periods or non-solar hours. The project will be integrated into the state grid through the nearest substation of the Uttar Pradesh Power Transmission Corporation.
