ACME Solar Enters 25-Year Power Supply Agreement with NHPC for 250 MW FDRE Project
Jan 30, 2026
ACME Solar Holdings has executed a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with NHPC for a 250 MW firm and dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE) Tranche VI project, reinforcing its presence in India’s evolving round-the-clock renewable power segment.
The agreement was signed on January 29, 2026, through ACME Solar’s subsidiary ACME Urja One, the company said in an official statement.
ISTS Connectivity and Firm Supply Commitments
The project will be connected to the Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS), with all required connectivity approvals already secured. Under the terms of the PPA, the project carries a minimum annual Capacity Utilisation Factor (CUF) of 40 percent and includes a contractual obligation to meet 90 percent of peak power demand for four hours each day on a monthly basis.
ACME Solar expects the project to operate at an average CUF exceeding 60 percent, significantly higher than the contractual minimum, driven by optimized asset deployment and hybrid renewable configurations.
Investment and Project Progress
The company plans to invest approximately Rs3,700 crore in the development of the FDRE project. Construction activities are being accelerated, with nearly 40 percent of the required land already secured, enabling timely project execution.
Expanding PPA Portfolio
Following the signing of this agreement, ACME Solar’s total PPA-contracted capacity has increased to 5,630 MW. In addition, the company has a strong development pipeline of 2,140 MW, comprising projects where Letters of Award (LOAs) have been issued or are under process.
The latest PPA underscores ACME Solar’s strategic focus on firm, grid-compatible renewable solutions that support India’s transition toward reliable and dispatchable clean energy.
