ACME Solar Subsidiary Secures INR 47.4 Crore Change-in-Law Compensation from RERC

Nov 18, 2025

ACME Aklera Power Technology, a subsidiary of ACME Solar Holdings, has received a change-in-law compensation of approximately Rs 47.40 crore from the Rajasthan Electricity Regulatory Commission (RERC). The award is expected to increase revenue for the company’s 250 MW solar project with SECI by nearly 3.5% over the next 15 years.

The ruling addresses additional financial burdens arising from policy and tax changes. These include the imposition of basic customs duty on solar cells and modules, an increase in GST from 5% to 12%, as well as carrying cost components. The compensation will be disbursed through an annuity mechanism over 15 years at a 9% discount rate, enabling the project to recover unforeseen regulatory expenses and maintain economic viability.

Industry stakeholders view the decision as a positive benchmark, as RERC’s swift resolution and clear directives on timely cost recovery enhance confidence among renewable energy developers and investors. The judgment strengthens regulatory predictability and supports long-term growth of India’s renewable energy sector.
