ACME Solar Wins 130 MW in REMCL’s Round-the-Clock Renewable Energy Auction

Nov 24, 2025

ACME Solar Holdings Limited has secured 130 MW in REMC Limited’s (REMCL) 1,000 MW Round-the-Clock (RTC) renewable energy tender, emerging as one of the winning bidders in the recently concluded e-reverse auction. The company won the bid at a tariff of Rs 4.35 per unit, with the Letter of Award (LoA) expected to follow within the timelines specified in the tender.

Direct Power Supply to Indian Railways

The power procured under this tender will be supplied directly to Indian Railways, which requires steady and reliable power throughout the day due to its unique load profile. The Railways will sign a direct Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the successful bidders, without any intermediary.

The discovered tariff underscores the growing competitiveness of renewable energy in meeting high-CUF, round-the-clock demand by combining solar, wind, and energy storage systems at optimized cost.

Project Requirements and Compliance

Under the bid obligations, ACME Solar must supply renewable power supported by dispatchable sources and/or Energy Storage Systems (ESS) from ISTS-connected projects, ensuring consistent RTC energy delivery. The tender mandates:

• Minimum 75% annual availability for the first three years

• 85% annual availability from the fourth year onward

To meet these requirements, the project will require a mix of solar capacity, battery storage, and complementary wind power installations.

ACME Solar plans to commission the project within 30 months of signing the PPA. The company expects faster execution due to existing land banks and transmission connectivity available within its portfolio.

Commitment to Innovation and Reliability

The achievement aligns with ACME’s broader strategy of leading the sector through innovation and delivering high-reliability renewable power solutions for critical consumers such as Indian Railways.
