Adani Green Energy to Deliver 20.8 MW Hybrid Renewable Power to Asahi India Glass

Jan 09, 2026

Adani Green Energy has announced a captive power arrangement to supply 20.8 MW of wind-solar hybrid electricity to Asahi India Glass Limited (AIS) from its renewable energy assets located at Khavda, Gujarat.

The hybrid power supply will be sourced from a 25 MW solar power unit and a 20.8 MW wind power unit, both part of Adani Green Energy’s renewable portfolio at the Khavda renewable energy hub, the company said in a regulatory filing.

The agreement has been executed through Adani Green Energy Twenty Five B, a wholly owned step-down subsidiary of Adani Green Energy, which has entered into a Power Consumption Agreement and a Tripartite Agreement with AIS for the supply of the contracted capacity.

As part of the captive power structure, Asahi India Glass has committed to subscribing to a minimum of 26 percent of the proportionate equity share capital associated with the project, in one or more tranches, in compliance with India’s captive power regulations. The filing also noted that Adani Green Energy Twenty Five B and Adani Renewable Energy Holding Four signed an investment agreement with AIS on January 7, 2026.

The renewable power arrangement aligns with AIS’s broader sustainability strategy. During FY 2024–25, the company achieved a significant milestone with the commissioning of a green hydrogen initiative at its Soniyana float glass facility in Rajasthan. Under a 20-year agreement with Inox Air, AIS sources green hydrogen produced through electrolysis using renewable energy from a dedicated solar power plant.

As per the agreement, Inox Air will supply 95 tonnes of green hydrogen annually to support AIS’s new greenfield float glass facility in Chittorgarh, Rajasthan.

According to AIS’s FY 2024–25 Annual Report, the company aims to increase the share of renewable energy in its total energy consumption to 70 percent by 2030, reinforcing its long-term commitment to decarbonisation and clean energy adoption.
