ADM Signs 10 MW Solar PPA for Aligarh Plant

Jan 07, 2026

ADM Solar Power has entered into a 10 MW power purchase agreement with Avener Green under the open access captive model to supply renewable energy to its solar module and solar cell manufacturing facility in Aligarh.

The electricity generated through the captive solar project will be used to power the company’s manufacturing operations, reducing dependence on conventional grid-based power.

Under the agreement, a dedicated 10 MW captive solar power plant will deliver cost-effective and reliable green energy to ADM’s high-capacity production unit.

The move is aligned with the company’s long-term strategy to develop a low-carbon and energy-efficient solar manufacturing ecosystem in India while ensuring stable power supply for its operations.

By adopting open access captive solar power, ADM is expected to benefit from energy cost optimisation, long-term price certainty, and improved energy security for its manufacturing lines.

The company stated that the initiative supports its efforts to enhance operational efficiency while advancing sustainability goals.

Commenting on the development, ADM said that running its own solar module and cell production on renewable energy reflects its commitment to responsible manufacturing practices.

The company noted that the transition reinforces its role not only as a solar equipment manufacturer but also as a clean energy consumer focused on sustainable and future-ready growth.

The partnership is also aligned with the Government of India’s Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat initiatives by encouraging the use of renewable energy within domestic manufacturing.

According to ADM, the shift to solar-powered operations will significantly reduce its carbon footprint and help establish new sustainability benchmarks within the solar manufacturing sector.

Avener Green, which specialises in utility-scale and open access solar projects, will be responsible for developing and supplying power from the captive solar plant.

The company stated that it will ensure consistent performance, long-term reliability, and compliance with applicable regulatory requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
