AM Green Signs Rs 54,000 Crore MoU with Andhra Pradesh Government for Green Ammonia, Aluminium & Biofuel Projects
Nov 19, 2025
AM Green Group has entered into a series of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth Rs54,000 crore with the Government of Andhra Pradesh during the CII Partnership Summit held in Visakhapatnam.
Under these agreements, AM Green will invest Rs44,000 crore to establish a 1 million tonnes per annum Green Aluminium Complex at Kakinada (Uppada). The facility will be built in two phases and will be supported by one of the world’s largest RFNBO-compliant green ammonia plants, according to the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board (APEDB). This initiative is expected to drive a new era of low-carbon metals manufacturing by leveraging the state’s robust renewable energy resources and strategic coastal infrastructure.
In addition, the Group will invest Rs10,000 crore to set up multiple biorefineries across Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, and Anakapalli. These facilities will produce advanced second-generation (2G) ethanol and house a 180 KTPA Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) plant. The portfolio of biofuel assets will contribute significantly to global decarbonisation efforts while expanding India’s green fuel supply chain.
APEDB described the collaboration as a major step toward building an integrated “farm to flight” ecosystem, positioning the North Andhra Pradesh region as a leading global hub for next-generation biofuels and sustainable industrial development.
