Andhra Pradesh and Brookfield Revisit USD 12 Billion Clean Infrastructure Partnership at Davos
Jan 23, 2026
The Government of Andhra Pradesh has reaffirmed its long-term clean infrastructure collaboration with Brookfield Asset Management following a high-level discussion at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2026 in Davos.
The review meeting was held between Andhra Pradesh’s Minister for IT, Electronics and Education, Nara Lokesh, and Connor Teskey, President of Brookfield Asset Management. The discussions assessed progress made since their earlier engagement in London and focused on accelerating the execution of the USD 12 billion Memorandum of Understanding signed at the CII Partnership Summit in Visakhapatnam. The agreement ranks among the largest clean infrastructure commitments announced at the summit.
A key area of focus was the fast-tracking of Brookfield’s clean-energy-powered, gigawatt-scale data centre campus in Visakhapatnam, in line with the state government’s vision to position the city as a national hub for data centres and digital infrastructure. The two sides also explored collaboration opportunities in energy storage solutions, solar manufacturing, and pilot green hydrogen projects linked to Andhra Pradesh’s port-led industrial corridors.
The meeting also reviewed the progress of large-scale renewable energy projects under development in the state through Axis Energy’s Evren platform, backed by Brookfield. These projects are advancing utility-scale solar and wind capacity to provide affordable green power for industrial operations and digital infrastructure facilities.
Commenting on the partnership, Minister Nara Lokesh said Brookfield’s continued engagement highlights Andhra Pradesh’s emergence as a preferred destination for sustainable, large-scale global investments and reinforces the state’s commitment to building a future-ready clean energy ecosystem.
