Andhra Pradesh Secures Rs 5.2 Lakh Crore Energy Investments; Partners with WEF on Cyber & Energy Resilience Centre

Nov 17, 2025

Andhra Pradesh has attracted investment commitments worth Rs5.2 lakh crore across the energy sector in just two days at the 30th CII Partnership Summit in Visakhapatnam. According to Energy Minister G. Ravi Kumar, these investments have the potential to generate over 2.6 lakh jobs, marking a major boost to the state’s clean energy and green hydrogen ambitions.

The commitments were made on November 13 and 14, covering a wide range of segments including renewable energy, green hydrogen, pumped storage, hybrid RE projects, manufacturing, and biofuels.

On November 13, MoUs worth Rs2.94 lakh crore were signed, expected to create around 70,000 jobs. The following day, agreements exceeding Rs2.2 lakh crore were finalised, which could generate nearly two lakh jobs. Kumar said the strong investor response underscores Andhra Pradesh’s growing position as a leading hub for clean energy development.

In a parallel development at the summit, the Andhra Pradesh government and the World Economic Forum (WEF) signed an agreement to establish a Centre for Energy and Cyber Resilience. The initiative aims to enhance protection of the state’s electricity infrastructure and support future-ready power systems.

The MoU was concluded in the presence of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, who noted that the state is working toward generating high-quality power at the lowest possible cost. Senior officials including Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand and NREDCAP vice-chairman and MD M. Kamalakar Babu were also present during the exchange of agreements.
