Blueleaf Energy Brings 300 MWp Pachora Hybrid Project Online in Madhya Pradesh, Investment Near INR 1,900 Crore
Mar 27, 2026
Blueleaf Energy, a renewable energy platform backed by funds managed by Macquarie Asset Management, has operationalised its flagship 300 MWp Pachora Hybrid Power Project in Madhya Pradesh. The large-scale wind-solar installation represents an investment of nearly Rs 1,900 crore and marks a significant step in the company’s expansion in India’s clean energy sector.
The project is expected to generate close to 600 million units of renewable electricity annually, which will be supplied to the open power market. A 15-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with a leading domestic power trading company ensures long-term revenue visibility. Additionally, environmental benefits from the project are being monetised through a separate 15-year International Renewable Energy Credits (I-RECs) agreement with a global technology firm, further strengthening its financial viability.
Spread across 40 locations covering around 347 hectares, the hybrid facility integrates 35 wind turbines along with multiple solar installations and a central pooling substation. By combining wind and solar generation, the project enables round-the-clock power supply while improving grid efficiency and minimising the need for additional infrastructure. It is estimated to reduce carbon emissions by approximately 550 kilotons annually—equivalent to taking nearly 130,000 vehicles off the road.
Commenting on the milestone, CEO Raghuram Natarajan highlighted that the commissioning underscores Blueleaf Energy’s capability to execute complex hybrid renewable projects while addressing intermittency challenges. He noted that such models will play a crucial role in supporting India’s ambitious clean energy goals and building a more resilient power system.
Pratyush Thakur, Country Head for India, emphasised that the project goes beyond energy generation by contributing to community development. Through initiatives under the Blueleaf CARES programme, the company is supporting environmental, healthcare, and skill development efforts in the region, with similar approaches planned for upcoming projects in Rajasthan.
Despite facing weather disruptions and global supply chain constraints in 2025, the project began operations in December and is now running at full capacity. Blueleaf Energy is also evaluating further expansion opportunities in the region while advancing its Rajasthan solar portfolio, which is progressing toward completion later this year.
