Bokaro Power Floats O&M Tender for 2 MW Rooftop Solar Capacity in Jharkhand
Jan 21, 2026
Bokaro Power Supply Company Limited (BPSCL) has invited bids for the operation and maintenance (O&M) of rooftop solar installations with a cumulative capacity of 2 MW located across multiple buildings within and outside the Bokaro Steel Plant premises in Jharkhand.
According to the tender details, the deadline for bid submission is February 9, 2026, with bids scheduled to be opened on February 10, 2026.
Interested bidders are required to submit an earnest money deposit of Rs 100,000. However, micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), public sector undertakings, government undertakings, and cooperative societies have been exempted from the EMD requirement.
The scope of work includes weekly cleaning of solar modules, identification and rectification of ground faults, and regular monitoring of string currents across all rooftop systems. Contractors will also be responsible for collecting daily generation data through the remote monitoring system and recording monthly physical meter readings.
In addition, the selected bidder will be tasked with routine maintenance and upkeep of all project equipment, restoration of faulty components within 48 hours of a breakdown, and execution of periodic preventive maintenance activities. This includes repairing or replacing defective parts to ensure uninterrupted operation of the existing solar assets.
The tender also requires the preparation of a detailed maintenance plan and deployment of qualified technical personnel for supervision and ongoing system management.
BPSCL has specified performance benchmarks under the contract, mandating a net minimum guaranteed generation of at least 1.7 million units annually for five years starting FY 2027. This threshold will gradually decline to 1.67 million units by the end of FY 2031.
Bokaro Power Supply Company is a joint venture between the Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) and the Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC).
