Ceigall India Secures LoI from RECPDCL for 400/220 kV GIS Substation Project in Maharashtra
Nov 26, 2025
Ceigall India has received a Letter of Intent (LoI) from REC Power Development and Consultancy Ltd. (RECPDCL) to develop a 400/220 kV gas-insulated substation (GIS) at Velgaon, Maharashtra, under the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) framework.
The award represents a significant step forward in strengthening Ceigall’s presence in the high-voltage transmission sector. The project, estimated at approximately Rs450 crore, will be executed over a two-year construction period, followed by a 35-year operation and maintenance term. As part of the agreement, the company will receive an annual annuity of Rs58.5 crore over the O&M duration.
Reacting to the development, Ramneek Sehgal, Chairman and Managing Director of Ceigall India, said the project reinforces the company’s engineering capabilities and commitment to delivering future-ready, large-scale infrastructure. He noted that as India intensifies efforts to modernize its transmission network, Ceigall is focused on building assets that enhance grid reliability and meet stringent safety and performance standards. The Velgaon GIS project, he added, will play an important role in strengthening the region’s power infrastructure.
The LoI adds to Ceigall’s strong pipeline of recent project wins in FY25–26, spanning national highway upgrades, bridge construction, mobility corridors, and major urban infrastructure developments. The Velgaon substation reinforces the company’s growing footprint in high-value engineering and transmission projects.
