Chhattisgarh Regulator Proposes New Rules for Electricity Grid Stability

Jan 07, 2025

The Chhattisgarh State Electricity Regulatory Commission (CSERC) has issued draft regulations aimed at enhancing the stability and security of the state's electricity grid. These regulations propose a new Deviation Settlement Mechanism (DSM) that will apply to all entities connected to the state's transmission network, including those involved in both intra-state and inter-state power transfers.

The proposed DSM will come into effect from April 1, 2025. Its primary objective is to ensure that all grid users adhere to their scheduled electricity consumption and supply patterns. By implementing this mechanism, CSERC aims to prevent grid imbalances and maintain a reliable and stable power supply across the state.
