CORE to Upskill Tata Power Workforce with Advanced Wind Turbine Training Programme

Apr 16, 2026

The Centre of Renewable Energy (CORE), the specialised training arm of the POWERCON Group, has been selected by Tata Power to deliver a customised training programme focused on wind turbine operations and maintenance. The initiative aims to enhance workforce capabilities in renewable energy systems and operational management.

The programme is designed as a structured, multi-layered training model combining theoretical knowledge with practical experience. It begins with classroom-based learning covering safety practices, wind power plant design, turbine functionality, and balance of plant operations. This is followed by on-site exposure at operational facilities, allowing participants to gain hands-on experience in real-world conditions. The final phase focuses on advanced troubleshooting, component-level diagnostics, remote monitoring, and performance analytics.

Participants will also gain access to specialised facilities, including simulation environments for turbine control and power flow, as well as labs for component repair and technical analysis. Training will extend to remote operations and analytics through dedicated centres managing large-scale renewable energy assets across wind, solar, and battery storage systems.

In addition to technical skills, the programme incorporates managerial training, equipping participants with the ability to handle operational challenges and lead projects effectively in large-scale renewable installations.

Industry leaders noted that the collaboration reflects the growing importance of skilled professionals in supporting India’s renewable energy expansion. With the sector scaling rapidly, particularly in wind energy, demand for trained personnel is expected to rise significantly in the coming years. Initiatives like this aim to build a strong pipeline of job-ready professionals aligned with national clean energy goals.
