ENGIE India Targets 7 GW of Hybrid and Storage-Backed Renewables by 2030
Oct 26, 2025
ENGIE India has announced plans to expand its renewable portfolio to 7 GW by 2030, focusing on hybrid and storage-enabled projects.
The French energy major is investing in solar and wind projects integrated with battery energy storage systems (BESS) to improve grid stability and provide reliable power. These hybrid setups allow electricity supply to remain consistent even when natural resources fluctuate.
The company aims to accelerate India’s renewable capacity while offering solutions to commercial and industrial customers seeking dependable green energy. Hybrid and storage-backed projects are increasingly attractive due to rising demand for flexibility in the grid and the growing penetration of renewable sources.
ENGIE India’s approach includes leveraging smart technology for predictive maintenance and energy management, ensuring efficient operations and maximising output. The 7 GW target will position ENGIE India as a key player in the country’s renewable energy transition, supporting both sustainability goals and economic growth.
