Fourth Partner Energy Secures 28 MW Hybrid Power Deal with Hyundai Motor Group
Apr 16, 2026
Fourth Partner Energy (FPEL) has expanded its collaboration with Hyundai Motor Group and its affiliates by signing a new agreement to supply approximately 28 MW of wind-solar hybrid power. The energy will be sourced from the company’s upcoming hybrid park in Tamil Nadu.
The partnership reflects a deepening engagement between the two groups, evolving from initial rooftop solar installations to a broader effort aimed at decarbonising Hyundai’s supply chain. The agreement also includes support for affiliated entities such as Hyundai MOBIS, Hyundai WIA, Hyundai Glovis India, and Hyundai TRANSYS.
The hybrid power supply is expected to significantly reduce environmental impact, with estimated annual carbon emission reductions of over 38,000 tonnes. With this addition, renewable energy is projected to account for nearly 70% of the total energy consumption across the associated operations.
This latest development builds on earlier agreements between the companies. In November 2024, Hyundai Motor India had entered into long-term power purchase agreements with Fourth Partner Energy to source substantial solar and wind capacity from projects in Tamil Nadu under a group captive structure.
Overall, the expanded partnership highlights a continued shift toward clean energy adoption in the automotive sector, with a focus on integrating renewable power across manufacturing and supply chain operations.
