GK Energy Completes 17 % of Installations in MSEDCL’s Guinness Record Solar Pump Initiative

Dec 08, 2025

GK Energy has announced its significant contribution to the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd. (MSEDCL)’s Guinness World Record accomplishment, installing 7,620 off-grid solar pumps—approximately 17 percent of the total 45,911 systems deployed.

The company completed these installations within an accelerated 30-day period, spanning from October 27 to November 25, 2025.

In addition to executing the installations, GK Energy also served as MSEDCL’s Strategic Advisor, supporting the project’s end-to-end planning and execution. Its responsibilities included concept and strategy development, comprehensive coordination, documentation, framework design, and stakeholder management, all aimed at ensuring seamless delivery of the record-setting initiative.

The installations were undertaken as part of the Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump Yojana, the Government of Maharashtra’s flagship programme focused on expanding off-grid solar-powered irrigation across the state.

Reflecting on the achievement, GK Energy’s CMD and CEO, Gopal Kabra, expressed gratitude to MSEDCL for trusting the company with both advisory and execution roles. He noted that completing nearly 17 percent of the total installations within just 30 days demonstrates the company’s strong execution capabilities and dedication to impactful project delivery.

Kabra added that serving as the strategic advisor for this landmark initiative underscores the confidence placed in GK Energy by both MSEDCL and the state government. He emphasized that the company remains committed to advancing scalable and decentralized solar solutions to support sustainable agricultural practices.

According to GK Energy, the initiative is set to enhance Maharashtra’s solar irrigation landscape by reducing reliance on grid power and diesel, lowering operational costs for farmers, and ensuring dependable daytime irrigation.
