GR Infraprojects Secures Rs 413 Crore EPC Contract for BESS at NTPC’s Mouda Thermal Plant

GR Infraprojects Limited has received a Notification of Award from NTPC Limited for executing a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project at the Mouda Super Thermal Power Station. The contract, awarded on March 28, 2026, marks a significant step for the company in the energy storage segment.
The project will be carried out on an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) basis and involves the complete implementation of BESS at the thermal power facility. The scope includes design, supply, installation, and commissioning, along with comprehensive annual maintenance for the entire lifecycle of the system.
Valued at approximately Rs 413.37 crore (excluding GST), the project is to be completed within 15 months from the appointed date. The contract also covers ex-works supply within India and associated services required for seamless integration of the storage system.
The BESS installation is expected to enhance grid flexibility and improve the efficiency of power generation at the Mouda plant by enabling better load management and energy balancing.
The contract has been awarded by a domestic entity, and the company has clarified that there is no involvement or interest from its promoter or promoter group in the awarding entity.
