GREW Solar Gains ALMM Clearance for 3 GW of G12R Modules; Targets 11 GW Manufacturing Scale by 2026
Feb 11, 2026
GREW Solar has obtained Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) certification from the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) for 3 GW of its G12R High Power solar module capacity. The approval enables the company’s modules to be deployed in government-backed and utility-scale solar projects across India.
The Ahmedabad-based manufacturer stated that the ALMM inclusion affirms compliance with prescribed quality and performance benchmarks, strengthening its position in India’s regulated solar procurement landscape. As part of its broader growth roadmap, GREW Solar is expanding its overall module manufacturing capacity — covering M10, M10R, and G12R formats — from 6.5 GW to 11 GW by 2026.
The company introduced its G12R High Power Series last year, aligning its product strategy with India’s goal of achieving 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030 and promoting domestic manufacturing capabilities.
According to GREW Solar, the G12R series offers power output of up to 635 Wp and is engineered for utility-scale and open access installations. The design is aimed at reducing the number of modules required per megawatt by approximately 6–8 percent, thereby lowering balance-of-system costs related to structures, cabling, and land usage. The modules are also expected to improve installation efficiency and project timelines. Additionally, the company claims a 6–7 percent increase in container power density and a 1.5–3 percent higher power output per square metre compared to conventional TOPCon modules.
Vinay Thadani, CEO and Director of GREW Solar, described the ALMM approval as an important milestone, stating that it validates the company’s product standards and enhances its ability to contribute to India’s clean energy expansion. He added that the planned capacity increase reflects the company’s commitment to delivering high-performance solutions for project developers.
With the certification in place, the G12R modules are now eligible for deployment in government projects, open access installations, and net-metering systems, helping developers meet domestic sourcing requirements while utilising high-efficiency technology.
GREW Solar indicated that it will continue to invest in manufacturing expansion, advanced technologies, and quality enhancement initiatives to strengthen its presence in both domestic and global solar markets.
