Hero MotoCorp has laid the foundation stone for its second Global Parts Centre (GPC) in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, marking another major step in expanding its manufacturing, supply chain, and electric mobility capabilities in India. The facility will be developed with an initial investment of more than INR 750 crore as part of the company's broader investment roadmap exceeding INR 3,200 crore, aimed at strengthening domestic production, supporting exports, and creating thousands of employment opportunities.

The upcoming Global Parts Centre will serve as a key logistics and distribution hub for Hero MotoCorp's spare parts operations across both Indian and international markets. Designed to improve inventory management, faster parts availability, and supply chain efficiency, the facility is expected to play a strategic role in supporting the company's expanding portfolio of motorcycles, scooters, and electric vehicles.

The foundation stone ceremony was attended by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, who described the investment as a strong vote of confidence in the state's industrial policies and business-friendly ecosystem.

According to the Chief Minister, Hero MotoCorp's continued expansion in Andhra Pradesh has contributed significantly to employment generation, supplier ecosystem development, skill enhancement, and industrial growth, particularly in the Rayalaseema region. He said the new investment would further strengthen Tirupati's position as an emerging manufacturing, logistics, and mobility hub while creating fresh opportunities for the state's youth.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Pawan Munjal, Executive Chairman of Hero MotoCorp, said the project reflects the company's long-term commitment to India's manufacturing ambitions and its vision of producing world-class products under the "Made in India, for India and the World" philosophy.

He also noted that the foundation stone ceremony coincided with the 103rd birth anniversary of Hero MotoCorp's Founder and Chairman Emeritus, Dr. Brijmohan Lall Munjal, describing the new Global Parts Centre as a tribute to his vision of building institutions that drive long-term national development and industrial excellence.

A major highlight of the Tirupati facility is its close integration with Hero MotoCorp's electric mobility strategy. The company stated that its entire electric vehicle portfolio is designed, engineered, and manufactured at the Tirupati plant, making the location a central pillar of its future EV manufacturing operations. Following the planned expansion, the plant's annual production capacity is expected to increase to between 1.2 million and 1.5 million units, enabling the company to meet rising domestic and export demand.

Beyond manufacturing, the project is expected to generate around 4,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities, supporting both the Government of India's Viksit Bharat 2047 vision and the Andhra Pradesh Government's SwarnAndhra development agenda. The investment is also expected to stimulate ancillary industries, logistics services, warehousing, and component manufacturing across the region, creating long-term economic benefits.

As part of the event, Hero MotoCorp also announced two community development initiatives in collaboration with the Andhra Pradesh Government. The company introduced the Dr. Brijmohan Lall Munjal Heroes of Tomorrow Scholarship, which will provide full tuition support to meritorious engineering students studying at state Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) across all 28 districts of Andhra Pradesh. The initiative aims to encourage technical education and develop future engineering talent.

In addition, Hero MotoCorp will deploy VIDA electric scooters for women police personnel in Tirupati while providing specialised road safety training. The initiative is intended to promote sustainable mobility, enhance operational efficiency, and support women's empowerment through the adoption of electric transportation.

The announcement comes as India's automotive industry undergoes a rapid transformation toward cleaner mobility. Government initiatives such as the PM E-DRIVE Scheme, state-level EV policies, expanding charging infrastructure, and the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for the Automobile and Auto Components sector are encouraging manufacturers to invest in advanced production facilities, localisation of components, and electric vehicle supply chains. By strengthening its manufacturing and spare parts network, Hero MotoCorp is positioning itself to support the growing demand for both conventional and electric two-wheelers in India and overseas markets while enhancing supply chain resilience.
