Hindustan Power Group Firm Secures LoI for Platinum Group Minerals Exploration in Madhya Pradesh

Hindustan Power Group, an integrated energy company led by Ratul Puri, has announced that one of its group entities has been awarded a Letter of Intent (LoI) for the exploration of a Platinum Group Elements (PGE) block in Madhya Pradesh.

The LoI was granted following a competitive e-auction conducted by the Union Ministry of Mines, where the company emerged as the preferred bidder. The awarded Padhar block spans nearly 200 square kilometers and has been identified as a prospective zone for platinum group minerals, which are crucial for advanced industrial applications and clean energy technologies.

This development marks the group’s strategic entry into the critical minerals sector, aligning with India’s broader objective of strengthening domestic resource security. Platinum group elements play a vital role in emerging technologies such as green hydrogen production, fuel cells, electronics, and catalytic systems.

Commenting on the development, Ratul Puri, Chairman of Hindustan Power, highlighted that securing the block is a significant step toward building a reliable domestic supply of critical minerals. He emphasized the company’s focus on adopting a disciplined and responsible approach to exploration while contributing to India’s growing demand for next-generation energy and manufacturing solutions.
