Indian Innovator Showcases Breakthroughs in Green Hydrogen Cylinder Testing at Vietnam ASEAN Hydrogen Club
Dec 06, 2025
Dr Sandip P. Dhurat, one of India’s most dynamic clean-energy experts and a leading innovator in the hydrogen sector, delivered an impactful presentation at the Vietnam ASEAN Hydrogen Club on an area of growing global urgency — Green Hydrogen Cylinder Testing.
Speaking to an audience of policymakers, researchers, and industry leaders from across Southeast Asia, Dr Dhurat underlined that while hydrogen is rapidly gaining momentum worldwide, one of its most important pillars — cylinder safety testing — remains significantly underdeveloped. He highlighted that despite global enthusiasm for hydrogen adoption, very little concrete work has been done in establishing robust, future-ready testing systems that can ensure safe storage and deployment.
In his address, Dr Dhurat explained that as hydrogen enters everyday life through mobility solutions, industrial use, and decentralised energy systems, safety must be non-negotiable. Yet, the current landscape shows huge gaps in facilities, standards, and testing protocols — gaps that must be closed for hydrogen to truly become a mass-scale clean-energy solution.
His presentation explored what a next-generation testing ecosystem must include, from advanced reliability checks to climate-stress evaluations, and why Asia must take the lead in establishing unified, rigorous benchmarks.
Dr Dhurat was notably the only Indian invited to present at this prestigious platform — a reflection of his expanding influence as a hydrogen technologist, standards developer, and clean-energy thought leader. His work in hydrogen storage innovations, safety frameworks, and testing infrastructure has positioned him as one of the few experts actively shaping the future of the green hydrogen value chain.
Following the session, Dr Dhurat shared his appreciation for the opportunity and reiterated that meaningful progress in hydrogen safety is essential for unlocking the sector’s true potential. He called on governments, testing bodies, and industry stakeholders to accelerate work in this overlooked area and collaborate on creating strong, reliable, and globally aligned testing systems.
He also encouraged the clean-energy community to share insights and support the continued conversation around hydrogen safety and innovation.
